Trigger Finger Katy

Trigger Finger, also called stenosing tenosynovitis, occurs when there is swelling or inflammation of the sheath that surrounds the tendons in the fingers. While the exact cause of trigger finger is not known, it is often associates with gout, inflammatory illnesses, or diabetes. Symptoms of trigger finger may include catching in the fingers, painful, rigid locking of the finger, and tenderness in the fingers.

Sometimes trigger finger can be relieved with non-surgical treatments, but if symptoms persist or get worse, a surgical release of the tendon sheath may be required to treat it. This procedure is performed either under local anesthesia or without sedation as an outpatient treatment.
